I am struggling with cancer myself and have been for about 5 years now, with 2 surgeries and 6 weeks chemo & radiation the 1st time 2 years ago … Now having a 12 week program with just chemo treatment, boy has it had a toll on my body and mind..I have alot of support from family and friends. God has been with me every step of the way and has made me realize how much we need him in our lives.
The most important part of this is how my husband of 37 years has been there taken care of me every step, waiting on my hand and foot and even learning how to cook, clean and even helping me with the care of our 4 children and 14 grandchildren with their problems that every mother has dealt with, some alone. Some Husbands just don’t realize what a Mother and Wife have to deal with. Mine has gone above and beyond with the care that I have had to have. After a 4-5 hours treatment keeps me in bed with a weak, nausea and the nerve related side effects.

OMG .. What a wonderful Mothers Day I had…It was a quiet and peaceful day…I was able to sew, sew and do more sewing finishing up on alot of Soft Sculpture cloth dolls that I had started, a Chloe she turned out really cute, just have to make her some clothes, a Ethnic style Newborn baby doll, which I am going to dress in this adorable outfit the was made for my by my friend Theresa at grammiesdolls.com, can’t wait to she her in it, and I will post as soon as I can get them all dress. Then I made this awesome Bunting and Hat outfit our of fleece fabric from a DinkyBaby pattern, Boy did it turn out cute.. Sew did I get a lot down..
Wow Mothers Day was a great day for me, My youngest daughter and her hubby came over and brought over their tiler to plant me a vegetable garden, my other daughter and her hubby helped them plant alot of veggies, cucumbers, yellow squash, zuccini squash, tomatoes, green peppers, corn and green beans. It was nice the grandkids put the seeds in the ground, great science project started here. I thought I was’t going to be able the have one this year, I have been sick lately and just did not have the strength to get one going..What a surprise and the best present that anyone could have gotten.

Sitting here enjoying the wonderful weather here in South Carolina this morning, looks like summer is here instead of spring. Very warm and humid already, But the trees are green and the flowers are blooming, with lots of colors
I am going to be working on my soft sculpture cloth doll this morning, it is a DinkyBaby Newborn pattern..one of my favorite and best seller. I have lots of bodies lying around, arms and legs stuffed and ready to sew to the bodies, heads are not done yet but, its a nice day to work on them.
Finally organized my sewing space and it is so nice to be able to sit down and just sew with out everything being in shambles..I seem to get more accomplished. Here is a picture of my space, the shelving unit my daughter gave to me, a recycled potatoe chips and cracker rack that her job put in the trash, I was able to clean up and put all my shoe box totes, each labeled. No more searching in each box and tearing up the room to find what you need.

Each shoe box has every DinkyBaby Patterns, Grammies Doll Patterns and all the other soft sculpture doll patterns that I own. The white cabinet next to it has all my craft velour fabric .. My friend Grammie from grammiesdolls.com gave me a great hint on how to store larger sizes of fabric, fold and put on hangers for the closet. Great idea.
Well have to go one of my beautiful granddaughters is 14 years old today, having a pool party. Here is a picture of her and her friends in the half full pool … they like getting in and running around, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr very cold water for me, but they don’t seem to be bothered with that..

What a wonderful friend she has become as well as alot of the other ladies. I am very thankful that I have such a great group of ladies that I can share my sewing activities with. They are all very talented.
